The CharitySportEvents.com (CSE) Terms of Service explain what we do for you the users of the site, namely the charities, the businesses and the individual supporters. They also explain what we request of you in return.
If you’re in a hurry this is the short version, which highlights the key points:
Central Supernova (CS) operate and maintain a non-profit website that enables events to be published by the Member charities. These events can be created and managed by the charities or suggested and managed by the individual and business membership. In either case it is the charities which publish the events on to the website. With all events CS aims to introduce and generate advertising and sponsorship from relevantly positioned local, national, and international businesses in addition to those introduced by the charities and the individuals themselves. The website also facilitates the financial transactions required of the individual and business members to support and sponsor such events in aid of the charities. Membership to the website is free but joining an event requires payment. 100% of this payment is passed directly to the charity by CS. In addition, 60% of the first business sponsorship fee and 40% of all additional sponsorship fees, paid by businesses for advertising and sponsorship opportunities within the pages of that event and within the profile pages of the supporting individuals, is paid by CS directly to the charity associated with that event as a 'top-up' to the funds generated by the Individual event supporters. The fee for a business to sponsor an event is equal to £5 per player/competitor of that event - so in other words an event sponsored by one business will generate a top up of £3 per entry, and an event with two business sponsors will generate a combined top-up of £5 per entry. Additional business sponsors would each generate £2 of top-ups. This means that an event, where an individual pays £10 to join and which has three business sponsors, would generate £17 for the charity.
All transactions are subject to a 3% PayPal / Credit Card fee. CS absorbs these fees from within its business sponsorship and advertising (operational revenue) to ensure 100% of all payments made by individuals for entry to an event goes to the relevant charities. In any such cases that business sponsorship or advertising is not associated with an event, the full entry fee of the individual will still be passed on to the relevant charity by CS.
In addition to the standard advertising and sponsorship, CSE offers an Intelligent Advertising service, where a business can sponsor an Individual and in return receive a branded association with that Individual throughout the website. The Intelligent Advertising fee is equal to £10 per person - with 20% being donated to the associated charity by CS. For more information please check out How it works.
Your privacy is paramount to us. Our privacy policy shows you how we protect it.
If you create a CSE page, please remember CSE is a global website and available to everyone. We’ll remove offensive, obscene or racist content on the rare occasions we find it – and we may terminate membership as a result. Please also make sure that the content you upload on the site, especially pictures, is not copyright-protected.
That’s it. If you want the full, extended version, here it is:

About the charities and organisations featured on the Website
The Website allows Individual and Business members to support any of the events listed by a charity member in return for payment of the required fee which is set by the charity when creating and publishing the event. Every charity or organisation featured has a contractual agreement with CS authorising CS to collect related payments on its behalf. Charities and organisations are accepted as members of the website at CS’s discretion and so long as they are officially registered charities or organisations within their respective countries. CS will check all charity accounts to ensure they are valid, recognised and official charities. The website also features reputable not-for-profit organisations, which are clearly listed on the Website as such. Charities and not-for-profit organisations can have similar names: it is your responsibility to check that you are paying to join and support an event associated with the charity or organisation you intended.
The Website Service
The website provides visible and tangible support of charity events by Individual members and visible and tangible sponsorship of charities and sponsorship of Individual members by Business members. When each chooses to support or sponsor an event they must agree to the Terms and Conditions of the website. That is that the Individual agrees to pay the required fee as set by the charity, and in doing so accepts that any business sponsor of that Individual will become ‘tagged’ to that Individual within their profile page and where ever that individual’s profile features throughout the website. Likewise, the Business member agrees that any decision to pay the required fee to sponsor an event will provide sponsorship status for that event and visibility of the Business logo on the profile page of the event and the associated charity. In the same way when choosing to sponsor an individual member, the business member accepts that it will become a visible sponsor of that individual or individuals with the business logo featuring on the profile pages of the individuals and where ever on the website those individuals feature. This visibility is considered as advertising by way of visibly connecting and associating the individuals with the businesses and the businesses with individuals.
Payments
Payments to CS are processed according to the site member’s status. An Individual member can pay to support an event whereas a Business can pay to sponsor an event and sponsor an Individual member who is supporting an event. The business payments are classed as advertising whereas the individual’s payments are classed as event fees. Considering that the event is owned by the charity payments made by Individual members to join or support an event are paid by CSN to the charity associated with the event - according to the percentages explained above.
Payments by CS to member charities are considered the same as donations and as such are available to be used by the charity at their discretion unless specified within the event description which may provide for funds raised to be used for a specific item, cause, cost, or person.
It is not CS’s responsibility to ensure money paid to the charities is used for a specific item, cause, cost, or person should it have been specified as such within the event details. Therefore CS cannot be held responsible for a charity’s failure to uphold any such commitment specified within the event details.
CS fees
Registering an account and using CSE is completely free. Payments made by users to join an event or buy a donated Item are passed directly to the respective charity. CS charges businesses that choose to advertise on the CSE website or sponsor event supporters. Such advertising and sponsorship can be gained by sponsoring an event featured on the CSE website, sponsoring an individual member supporting an event, or via standard banner and location advertising.
